Governor Perry Reappoints Linkenauger to

SRA Board of Directors

(Orange, TX)  Governor Rick Perry recently announced the reappointment of Richard A. “Link” Linkenauger of Greenville, Texas to the Sabine River Authority of Texas Board of Directors for a term to expire July 6, 2009.  Mr. Linkenauger was first appointed to the board on September 15, 1997 and served in the capacity of president of the board in 2002.    

 

Mr. Linkenauger is president of Link International, Inc. and is involved in private investments.  He is active in his community serving on the Greenville Board of Development for 11 years, including two year terms as chairman.  He is also past chairman of the Greenville Board of Development.  He is a member of Rotary International, National Federation of Independent Business, and the Texas Association of Business and Chambers of Commerce.  Mr. Linkenauger is former director of Colonial Bank of Greenville and former president of Greenville Club Lake.  He received a bachelor’s degree from Morris Harvey College, now the University of Charleston in West Virginia.  He enjoys hunting and fishing.  Link and his wife Carole, have two children and one grandchild and are active members of the Kavanaugh United Methodist Church in Greenville.

The Sabine River Authority of Texas is governed by a nine-member Board of Directors appointed by the Governor of Texas.  Board members of the Sabine River Authority are leaders in their communities and must reside in a county connected to the basin.   Created by the Legislature in 1949, the Sabine River Authority is an official agency of the State of Texas.  The Authority was created as a conservation and reclamation district with responsibilities to control, store, preserve, and distribute the waters of the Sabine River and its tributary streams for useful purposes.
