Public Invited for input on Water Quality Issues in Orange County

Citizens of the Orange County area are being asked for their input on ways to improve water quality in Adams Bayou and Cow Bayou.

Both bayous are experiencing several water quality problems. The state environmental agency – the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) – is now launching a project to determine ways to control the situation. The water quality issues in Adams and Cow Bayous will be addressed through the TCEQ Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) program.  The Sabine River Authority is coordinating the public participation component of the project for the commission.

Public Meeting:         Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, 6:00–8:00 p.m.

Location:                    Thomen Community Center

1413 N 20th St, Orange

                        Subject:                      Orange County TMDL Project

At the meeting, technical experts will discuss details on water quality conditions in the Adams and Cow Bayous and the process for developing a plan for improving conditions. Concerned citizens will be invited to make comments and ask questions at the meeting.
