- (Orange, TX) A new slate of officers was elected for 2010 by the Board of Directors at the annual meeting of the Sabine River Authority of Texas (SRA) recently held in Orange. Stan Mathews of Pinehurst was elected as Board President. Other elected officers include Vice President Don Covington of Orange, Secretary/Treasurer Earl Williams of Orange and Secretary Pro Tem David Koonce of Center. - Toledo Bend Water Releases Advisory #20
- Persons having interests in the Sabine River Basin below the reservoir are hereby advised that at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, the reservoir elevation was 172.58' m.s.l. Currently both generators are operating 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. All spillway gates have been closed. Total discharge is +/- 12,870 cfsSRA Posted 11/17/2009 1:40:14 PM
- States Work Together to Combat Giant Salvinia on Toledo Bend Reservoir
- (Toledo Bend Reservoir) The Toledo Bend Project Joint Operations, comprised of the Sabine River Authority, State of Louisiana and the Sabine River Authority of Texas (the Authorities) continue to work together with State agencies and local citizens to combat Giant Salvinia on Toledo Bend Reservoir. Recent heavy rains have flushed a large accumulation of the vegetation out in the open allowing better access for treatment. On November 7th and 8th over 2,000 acres of the floating vegetation were sprayed with herbicides by helicopter. Another 1,400 acres are scheduled to be sprayed in the next two weeks.SRA Posted 11/12/2009 9:30 AM
