Mission

The purpose of the group is to bring together users at any level in public, private and educational sectors who are interested in geotechnology. This group will facilitate open dialogue, public awareness, data sharing, professional growth and representation to assist its membership in their everyday jobs.

ETUG Meeting

The East Texas GIS & GPS User Group will be meeting November 7th from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM in Longview at the City of Longview Development Services Building (410 S High Street - link to map). ETUG will be providing lunch for those that RSVP to mailto:brownjohnn@sfasu.edu. Charles Ashton with the Columbia Regional Geospatial Service Center will be speaking about weather data! Forest Resources Institute Regional Node
The Forest Resources Institute Regional Node is the prototype for a new data distribution initiative in Texas. Part of the Texas Geography Network (TxGN), the Regional Node Initiative calls for the establishment of a network of regional data hubs across the state. FRI is developing the prototype regional node, in cooperation with the Texas Natural Resources Information System (TNRIS). Point of contact is P. R. Blackwell (mailto:prblackwell@sfasu.edu).
