Quitman is located at the intersection of State Highways 37 & 154, 35 miles north of Tyler, 82 miles east of Dallas, and 94 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana, and lies midway between Interstate 20 and Interstate 30. It is the county seat of Wood County.
